Jordan Rodgers apparently had no reservations about sharing his personal life when choosing to appear on The Bachelorette, even though his family situation is complicated.

As revealed on The Bachelorette, Jordan's older brother Aaron Rodgers -- quarterback for the Green Bay Packers -- is estranged from the family for undisclosed reasons, although there's been plenty of speculation about what went down.

The longer Jordan lasted on the show, the more he had to explain his family drama. And before he knew it, his lack of a relationship with Aaron became the focus of his storyline both on and off television.

"You know, I didn't even think about it going into the show," Jordan told People about having to discuss family problems in front of millions of viewers. "I probably should have."

Jordan, however, explained it wasn't his intention to air his family's dirty laundry and he really didn't know any better.

"I just wasn't familiar with the show," Jordan insisted, "but my goal was to be honest with [JoJo] every step of the way."

Once Jordan learned the ropes of The Bachelorette, he was forced to open up to Fletcher in order to progress their romance. She also eventually traveled to Chico, CA, to meet his family, and Aaron was noticeably absent from the dinner table.

"You don't get any time off camera," Jordan added, although each The Bachelorette couple does have an opportunity to spend a night alone in the Fantasy Suite after the men's hometown dates.

"So, we're talking about really trying to get to an engagement -- you got to share everything. It had to be talked about."

Fletcher admitted while her season was airing that Jordan handled the topic like a mature gentleman. According to a source, Aaron has been estranged from his family for years. Jordan attributed Aaron's detachment to the way the NFL star has "chosen to do life," along with his questionable priorities.
