Janice Dickinson: 'Top Model' lost a lot of punch when I left

By Christopher Rocchio, 03/28/2008

When Paulina Porizkova replaced Twiggy as an America's Next Top Model judge for the tenth season, fellow judge Nigel Barker commented how the former Dancing with the Stars celebrity participant was the show's new Janice Dickinson.

"Oh please, there's no one like me!" said Dickinson in In Touch Weekly's March 24 issue.  "Nigel has nothing else to say.  He's a stamped, copy-written, Grade-A piece of beef."

Twiggy had been a regular member of Top Model's judging panel since she replaced Dickinson prior to the show's Fall 2005 fifth season.

At the time, the now-defunct UPN announced Dickinson was leaving the show for that classic PR reason -- "to pursue other projects" -- but rumors circulated that she had been butting heads with Top Model creator and lead judge Tyra Banks.

"The judges on that show are under Tyra's magic," Dickinson told In Touch.  "I respect the hell out of Ms. Banks, but I don't like her very much."

Regardless of who Banks places on Top Model's judging panel, Dickinson apparently feels the show will never have the same swagger as when she was there.

"Top Model lost a lot of punch when I left," she boasted to In Touch.
