Fox has announced So You Think You Can Dance's sixth-season broadcast schedule -- from the audition episodes until home viewers begin the process of voting for their favorite finalists.
So You Think You Can Dance will premiere Wednesday, September 9 at 8PM ET/PT with footage from its sixth-season auditions, which were held this summer and made stops in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Phoenix and Salt Lake City.
Additional episodes featuring audition footage will air September 16, 23 and 30 in the Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot, as well as on September 29 and October 6 in the Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT.
Footage from So You Think You Can Dance's sixth-season "Las Vegas Round" audition callbacks will then air on October 7 and October 14 in the Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot.
The Top 20 finalists -- which will consist of the Top 10 males and Top 10 females -- will then be revealed on Wednesday, October 21 at 8PM ET/PT.
So You Think You Can Dance's sixth season will then move into its regular twice-a-week broadcast schedule -- with two-hour performance episodes airing in the Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot beginning October 27 and one-hour results shows airing in the Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot the following night.
Fox confirmed in May that So You Think You Can Dance's sixth season would air in the fall as part of the network's 2009-2010 primetime programming schedule -- representing the first time it has aired outside Fox's summer schedule.
