HOME > Fast Cars & SuperstarsFormer NFL star John Elway wins ABC's 'Fast Cars & Superstars'Two-time Super Bowl champion John Elway added another trophy to his collection, as the former NFL quarterback was crowned the winner of Fast Cars & Superstars - Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race during Sunday night's broadcast of the ABC reality show's finale.
"What a blast!" said Elway as he exited his stock car in front of a Lowe's Motor Speedway crowd that was chanting his name. "That was as fast as I could go!" During last night's finale, Elway competed against Murray; reigning World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena; Nashville Star 5 host and Grammy nominated musician Jewel; skateboarding legend Tony Hawk; and former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher. Fast Cars & Superstars' final course challenge required each finalist to follow the Young Gun they were paired with around the track for five laps. During their run, the finalists also had to make a pit stop following the third lap, with the celebrity that posted the best time winning the title. "I'm going to go as fast as I can but also try to be smart about it," said Elway during a voiceover as his stock-car flew around the track. Apparently, his strategy worked as he was able to narrowly defeat Murray. |
