Flip or Flop, which premiered three years ago, has been a big success for HGTV; however, the fate of the show has been in question since Christina and Tarek revealed they have called it quits on their relationship after seven years of marriage.

According to a source, additional episodes of Flip or Flop will be filmed in 2017 in order to fulfill contractual obligations, E! News reported, but "the show will end after that."

The show's ending may only be temporary though depending on Christina and Tarek's ability to continue working together.

Christina and Tarek announced their separation on December 12 through a joint media statement in which they cited "challenges" and an "unfortunate misunderstanding" from six months ago as the reasons behind their split.

The couple later revealed they've been living apart for months and even dating other people. Christina is reportedly romantically involved with a contractor, Gary Anderson, who has worked for her in the past.

Tarek and Christina have two children together, Taylor, 6, and Brayden, 1, and wed in May 2009.

Both Tarek and Christina have insisted their professional relationship will continue despite the collapse of their marriage. The house flippers said they would handle the process "civilly and cooperatively," while keeping their children as the top priority.

"We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina's great work on Flip or Flop," HGTV said in a statement obtained by E! News.

"When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of Flip or Flop and the series will continue production as scheduled."

Flip of Flop's seventh season is currently airing on the network, as the series returned on December 1.
