Fired 'Dinner: Impossible' chef Robert Irvine scraps restaurants plan

Disgraced celebrity chef Robert Irvine, who admitted he fabricated much of his resume, reportedly has decided against opening two Florida eateries as planned.

The Food Network opted not to renew Irvine's contract for his "Dinner: Impossible" TV show recently after the chef admitted he had lied about his experience and relationship with the British royal family.

A joint statement released Monday by Irvine's business partner and the prospective landlord said plans to establish the side-by-side eateries in downtown St. Petersburg had been scrapped because "the timing is not exactly right," the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported.

The statement also noted Irvine "cannot commit to spending at least four days a week'" at the restaurant as he had expected.
