Fantasia Barrino has taped an interview with VH1 discussing her recent hospitalization for an alleged suicide attempt, the network said.

The "American Idol" winner was in the news this month for taking an overdose of aspirin and sleeping pills in the wake of reports that said she broke up a boyfriend's marriage, an allegation her publicists have denied.

VH1 said the recording star "officially sets the record straight" about these events in "Behind the Music: Fantasia," a new special to air Tuesday.

"Included in this episode, Fantasia will address the most recent events in her life in an interview that was taped on Saturday," VH1 said in a news release Monday.

"Narrated by Jim Forbes, this 'Behind The Music' will give viewers an inside look into the personal and professional life of one of music's greatest vocalists. Along with interviews from Fantasia herself, the episode will feature stories from some of the people who know her best as well as never-before-seen footage."
