After years of hiding behind demonic face paint, former KISS frontman and guitarist Gene Simmons has received an upgrade.

Simmons and former Playboy Playmate of the Year Shannon Tweed, who he's been happily UNmarried to for 24 years, received facelifts together in November. Cameras were there to capture it all for the second season of Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which premieres Sunday, March 25 at 9PM ET/PT on A&E.

"I was always delusional about myself and I continue to be so -- even though when I looked in the mirror I saw jowls and chins and stuff like that -- it never really bothered me because sort of how I carried myself," Simmons, 57, told People in a recent interview.  "The before and after is actually quite striking, because the after sort of shows what could have been better that I couldn't see because I was delusional about it... I was in-love with myself and blind of my faults."

While the 50-year-old Tweed was also aware of Simmons' jowls, which she told People were "like Jabba the Hutt," she was always a little skeptical of receiving duel facelifts because she didn't want him "to look younger" than she does.  But Simmons apparently has a high opinion of himself, regardless of plastic surgery.

"If I would have continued before the facelift, with everything as is, I would have been happy," Simmons told People.  "It wasn't a critical issue for me.  But quite honestly, after the facelift it does look better.  And I'm even more supremely confident now.  Boy do I love me now."
