ABC's regular series premiere of its new Extreme Makeover: Home Edition home makeover series recruited Sunday night viewers to the network in numbers not seen in a year, leading its lead-out Alias to its highest young women ratings for the season and placing Makeover as the network's third highest rated program for the week ending February 15.

Airing at 8PM ET/PT, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition drew 10.9 million viewers (a jump from the 9.1 drawn by its America's Funniest Home Videos lead-in) and a 4.0/10 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic. In its debut, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition virtually tied CBS' established Cold Case in the hour among Adults 18-49 (4.0/10 vs. 4.2/10) and actually beat the CBS drama in its second half-hour (4.5/11 vs. 4.3/10).

With Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's regular series premiere, ABC attracted its largest audience (10.9 million) and highest Adult 18-49 rating (4.0/10) with regular programming in the time period since it broadcast The Music Man on The Wonderful World of Disney on February 16, 2003. The premiere delivered ABC's highest Adult 18-34 rating (3.5/10) with regular programming in the hour since it aired Disney's The Santa Clause on November 24, 2002.

Despite competing against the final hour of NBC's broadcast theatrical premiere of Shrek, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition gained 1.9 million viewers (10.0 million to 11.9 million) and built 25% among Adults 18-49 (3.6/9 to 4.5/11) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

Strengthed by Makeover's strong lead-in, at 9PM ET/PT the network's Alias spy drama equaled its highest ratings of the season in both Women 18-34 (4.6/12) and Women 18-49 (4.7/10).
