Corina Noelle and Maxx Reed were revealed to be the first two contestants cut from Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann during last night's live broadcast of the new ABC reality competition series.

"This was an absolutely amazing opportunity and I'm still grateful to this moment that I'm standing on this stage," Corina told Dance War host Drew Lachey after she was eliminated.  "I wish you guys all the best of luck."

Corina, a 22-year-old from Southington, CT, and Maxx, an 18-year-old from Bartlett, TN, were both eliminated from Dance War after neither was chosen by "Team Captains" Carrie Ann Inaba or Bruno Tonioli, both of whom selected a six-person team that they will mentor for the remainder of the competition.

"I'm definitely disappointed," said Maxx.  "But this whole experience -- I mean all of these people, everybody -- they're all incredibly talented.  It was an honor to have worked with them.  It's not going to stop me.  I'm going to keep on going."

Following performances by both the seven male and seven female contestants, Carrie Ann and Bruno began to select their respective teams.

Carrie Ann received the first pick among the guys, and selected Bradley, a 24-year-old from Nashville, TN.  Bruno chose Zack, a 25-year-old from Saratoga Springs, UT, with his first pick.  Carrie Ann then chose Chris, an 18-year-old from San Bernardino, CA, while Bruno selected Tony, a 23-year-old from Los Angeles, CA.

Bruno received the first pick among the girls, and chose Lacey, a 22-year-old from Nashville, TN.  Carrie Ann selected Mariel, a 19-year-old from Chicago, IL, with her first pick.  Bruno then chose Kelse, a 20-year-old from West Monroe, LA, while Carrie Ann selected Elizabeth, a 20-year-old from Riverside, CA.

The three remaining guys and three remaining girls who were not initially chosen for one of the two squads then had the opportunity to perform again before Bruno and Carrie Ann selected the final two members of their six-person teams.

Bruno received the opportunity to choose first, and selected Phillip, a 24-year-old from Sterling, VA, and Charity, a 20-year-old from Nashville, TN, to complete his team.  Carrie Ann selected Qis, a 26-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, and Alyssa, a 20-year-old from Fresno, CA, to round-out her squad.

Corina and Maxx were then revealed to be eliminated.

Last night's live broadcast did feature a slip-up by Drew, Dancing with the Stars second-season champ who was able to cut his hosting chops while Dancing co-host Samantha Harris was on maternity leave at the beginning of the show's Fall 2007 fifth season.  Apparently, he could have used a little more seasoning.

"Bruno, Carrie Ann... How can these sex -- six performers win you guys over?" questioned Drew towards the end of the broadcast, which brought smiles and chuckles from the live studio audience.

Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann's next episode will air live on Monday, January 21 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC, with "Team Bruno" and "Team Carrie Ann" performing themed dancing/singing routines for the first time, with home viewers able to cast their votes for their favorite squad immediately following the broadcast.
