Crystal Bowersox: I had wanted to fix my teeth since I was a child

"American Idol" runner-up Crystal Bowersox says getting her new smile is "something I've always wanted to do" since childhood.
Speaking to People magazine Friday at "Good Morning America," where she performed with "Idol" winner Lee DeWyze, Bowersox, 24, said, "I had braces when I was young and I couldn't afford to finish treatment."
Earlier, she had turned down a public offer to get her teeth done for free, saying she was beautiful the way she was, People reported.
"I had turned down an offer that I thought was very rude," Bowersox told the magazine. "There was a dentist that made a public offer -- he didn't contact me personally, and so I turned him down publicly. It's not that I didn't want to do it. I've always wanted to do it."
Bowersox, now on the American Idols Live Tour, says her new teeth are a blessing. "I'm smiling with pure confidence for the first time in my life."
