Former "American Idol" finalist Clay Aiken's stint as a co-host for U.S. TV's "Live with Regis and Kelly" apparently didn't sit well with hostess Kelly Ripa.

The Web site TMZ.com said Monday that Ripa was put off with what she saw as disrespectful attitude on the part of Aiken during last Friday's show.

The relationship went south particularly when Aiken put his hand over Ripa's mouth while they interviewed "Dancing with the Stars" winners Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke.

TMZ said the playing of a video clip from a few Halloweens ago in which Ripa impersonated Aiken didn't help the situation.
