Canada's immigration laws have put the kibosh on convicted felon Martha Stewart's plans to attend a pumpkin festival in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

But the trip was called off at the last minute when officials refused to grant Stewart -- who was convicted of lying about a stock sale -- an exemption to the law aimed at keeping foreign criminals off Canadian turf.
Canadian Conservative Foreign Affairs Chief Stockwell Day said Stewart is no threat to his countrymen.
"I have no fear of her burying us with her prison poncho throwing a homemade pie," Day said. "She's no threat to Canada. They should let her in."
