Britney Spears may be "having a blast" judging The X Factor, but she's apparently impartial to which reality singing competition she stars on.

Had the singer been asked to judge American Idol's upcoming twelfth season following the confirmed departures of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, Spears said if it wasn't for her new The X Factor gig, she "would have loved that," according to Zap2it.

However, Spears insisted she loves being a member of the newly-revamped The X Factor judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and fellow newbie Demi Lovato after first-season judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were replaced in January.

"I feel like it brings a whole new energy to the show, definitely. Nicole and Paula were really great, but to have such a dramatic change, I'll bet this even made Simon and L.A. nervous," said Spears, who has now just about finished filming audition episodes in preparation for The X Factor's second-season premiere on Fox on September 12.

"That was what they had been used to, then these two new girls come in. I don't know how it'll be perceived, but it's been fun for us. I've been having a blast."

Spears explained she's not sure what the future may bring now that she's a part of The X Factor family but has been making an effort to stay relaxed.

"I hope I'm ready. I don't really know what to expect at this point, so I'm just taking it one day at a time," Spears told Zap2it.
