Bobbi Kristina Brown "doing much better" after emotional breakdown

By Elizabeth Kwiatkowski, 02/15/2012

Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's daughter, has come a long way since she was hospitalized for an emotional breakdown following her mother's sudden death this past weekend.

"My daughter Bobbi Kristina is doing much better," Houston's former husband and Being Bobby Brown co-star Bobby Brown said in a statement released Wednesday, according to People.

"We continue to provide love and support to Bobbi Kristina. She is dealing with the tragedy of her mother's death and would prefer to do it outside of the public eye. I ask again that our privacy be respected."

An extremely worked up Bobbi Kristina, who co-starred in Bravo's Being Bobby Brown reality series with Brown and Houston in 2005, was taken to the hospital Saturday night after Houston was found dead in her hotel room.

The 18-year-old reportedly returned to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles the following day to visit with doctors but was released to her family shortly afterwards.

"Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her," Brown reportedly said in a statement Monday. "However we will get through this tragedy as a family."

Houston was being eyed by The X Factor creator and judge Simon Cowell to become a member of the reality singing competition's second-season judging panel prior to her passing.

While the cause of the 48-year-old singer's death has yet to be confirmed, a private funeral will be held for Houston's family this weekend in Newark, NJ, according to People.
