This summer's edition of Running Wild with Bear Grylls will continue to feature famed adventurer and survivalist Bear Grylls taking a handful of high-profile celebrities on a 48-hour journey of a lifetime.

The upcoming edition will star actress and former Dancing with the Stars judge Julianne Hough, actress Courteney Cox, actress Vanessa Hudgens, singer Nick Jonas and Olympic skier and gold medalist Lindsey Vonn.

Each celebrity will have a stand-alone episode in which he or she will be partnered with Grylls one-on-one. The celebrities will travel to the most remote and wild locations in the United States for two days of extreme tasks and conditions.

Hough, who won two seasons of Dancing with the Stars as a pro partner, will travel to Africa. Hudgens -- who recently starred as Rizzo in Grease: Live! alongside Hough, who played Sandy -- will venture to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Jonas, who used to be a member of The Jonas Brothers band, will also go to Sierra Nevada.

Cox, best known for her roles on Friends and Cougar Town, and Vonn, who set an all-time record this year with her 20th World Cup title and crystal globe, will be headed to Ireland with Grylls.

Hough, Cox, Hudgens, Jonas and Vonn will be following in the footsteps of celebrities who previously participated in a similar adventure -- including Kate Hudson, Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet, Zac Efron and Channing Tatum. Running Wild with Bear Grylls also aired a special episode starring President Barack Obama in December 2015.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls is produced by Electus and Bear Grylls Ventures. Grylls serves as executive producer along with Ben Silverman, Chris Grant, Laura Caraccioli, Viki Cacciatore and Delbert Shoopman.
