Two months after hitting the radio with his first single, Nickelodeon has confirmed that the 17-year-old -- who finished second behind David Cook on Idol's seventh season in May -- will be making a guest-starring appearance on the network's iCarly sitcom, Us Weekly reported Wednesday.
Archuleta will be playing a character he should find somewhat familiar: a contestant in a fictional talent competition called America Sings, according to Us.
"iCarly is all about super-talented teens so David Archuleta is an ideal fit," show executive producer and creator Dan Schneider toldUs.
The series centers around a high school student named Miranda Cosgrove who hosts her own Internet show.
Archuleta was reportedly scheduled to begin filming his appearance on Thursday.
The episode -- entitled "iRocked the Vote" -- will air next spring, according to People.
