American Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced at the top of the two-hour broadcast Arthur -- who had competed on Season 18 from home during the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 -- was selected by home viewers to join the show this year.

"It feels marvelous [to be on this stage]," gushed Arthur, who finished Season 18 of American Idol as the runner-up behind winner Just Sam, formally known as Samantha Diaz.

When Arthur found out he'd be joining American Idol's Season 19 competition, he said he was "in awe" of the opportunity and it was a "wow" moment for him.

Arthur was therefore able to perform on "Disney Night" along with the rest of Idol's Top 10 contestants for this 2021 season.

Arthur took the stage with "Remember Me" from Coco.

Caleb Kennedy sang "Real Gone" from Cars, Willie Spence performed "Circle of Life" from The Lion King, Deshawn Goncalves took the stage with "When You Wish Upon a Star" from Pinocchio, and Casey Bishop sang "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2.

Chayce Beckham performed "Baby Mine" from Dumbo, Alyssa Wray serenaded the audience with "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella, and Cassandra Coleman sang "Go the Distance" from Hercules.

Hunter Metts performed "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan, and Grace Kinstler belted out "Into the Unknown" from Frozen II, which earned her a standing ovation from American Idol judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

Following a nationwide vote in real time throughout the live American Idol episode, America chose to eliminate Deshawn, Alyssa and Cassandra from the Season 19 competition.

Deshawn, Alyssa and Cassandra therefore received the fewest number of home viewer votes.

"What an impact you have had on all of us -- individually, personally, as a group, in this country and in this competition," Ryan told the three ousted contestants.

"Thank you so much and we're going to miss you! I wish I could hug you all!"
