American Idol's ninth season has been hit with another illness.

Paige Miles has been diagnosed with a case of vocal cord laryngitis that may impact her ability to perform on tonight's live performance show.

"I have no voice at all!  Doctor says its VC Laryngitis with swelling so pray for me!"  the newly-christened ninth-season finalist wrote in an early Tuesday afternoon posting on American Idol's Facebook page.

However Miles is vowing to find a way to battle through her illness and perform nonetheless.

"I will make it work regardless but what a way [to] start Top 12," she wrote.  "Still excited for today! Big stage now!!!"

Two weeks ago, American Idol delayed the season's live second-round female semifinals performance show a day due to an undisclosed medical issue with Crystal Bowersox.  However the show was able to substitute the week's male performance round in its place -- an option that is no longer available now that the season's finals are beginning.

At the time, American Idol executive producer Ken Warwick said Bowersox -- who was ultimately able to perform -- would likely be disqualified if she was still unable to sing the following night.

"We had a decision to make, whether we put together a show without her, what the fairness issues would be. Could we take maybe a pre-recording she made in the rehearsal and package it together so people could vote? Could I show [a performance] from last week and get people to vote, or was that it for her -- which is normally the situation," said Warwick.

"If you're in the Olympics and you're going from the semifinal for the finals, and you don't turn up, you don't go straight through to the final. So it was a difficult decision to make."
