'American Idol 5' Top 10 finalists invited to visit White House

U.S. President George W. Bush has invited the Top 10 finalists from the last season of the TV series "American Idol" to visit him in the White House.

"Entertainment Tonight" reported "Idol" winner Taylor Hicks and his fellow finalists will take pictures with Bush and be given a tour of the famed home of the president on Friday.

After visiting the White House, the reality TV stars are scheduled to perform that night at the Verizon Center for fans of the acclaimed musical series.

"Entertainment Tonight" also said the White House visit would prove special to Hicks as he would likely run into his former 9th grade English teacher, Susan Whitson, who is press secretary to first lady Laura Bush.
