Food Network has announced the Season 17 The Bachelor star will be joining other cast members, including former  Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Carson Kressley and actress Vivica A. Fox, on Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition, which is set to premiere Wednesday, August 23 at 9PM ET/PT.

In addition to Kressley and Fox -- who have both also previously appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars -- and Lowe, Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition will also star actress and comedian Nora Dunn, model and actress Carmen Electra, actor Erik Estrada, actress and comedian Melissa Peterman, and entertainment blogger Perez Hilton.

Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition will once again be hosted by famous chefs Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray. The series will test the celebrities via culinary boot-camp style challenges.

"Anne and Rachael have their culinary work cut out for them with this batch of celebrity recruits -- and the results are high-energy and hilarious," Food Network executive Courtney White said in a statement.

"These stars enter boot camp with less-than-impressive cooking skills and watching them gain confidence in the kitchen is remarkable."

A grand prize of $25,000 will be awarded to charity on behalf of the contestant who improves the most and best masters his or her way around the kitchen during the season finale on Wednesday, October 11 at 9PM ET/PT.

Last season, the winner's charity of choice was awarded a larger prize of $50,000.

During the first episode of the new season, Burrell and Ray will kick things off with a social-media inspired challenge in which the cooking-impaired celebrities must make a dish inspired by photos of food they've posted on their own social media accounts.

The initial challenge will be "a disaster" for some of these "clueless cooks," according to the network.

Burrell and Ray will then choose their teams, and that's when the culinary training will begin. Subsequent episodes will feature international flavors, dessert-themed milkshake and cupcake challenges, and the return of the trivia game "Family Food," which will have a "freaky food" twist this time around.

When Lowe starred on The Bachelor, he proposed to his now-wife Catherine Giudici.

The duo have one child together, a son Samuel, and have appeared on Celebrity Wife Swap as well as Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.
