'Wife Swap' creators sue Fox over 'Trading Spouses' copy

The creator of Britain's reality series "Wife Swap" has sued Fox, alleging it has copied its show in "Trading Spouses."

Britain's RDF Media, which turned "Wife Swap" into a hit series, alleged "Trading Spouses" is a "blatant and wholesale copycat" of the British show, the New York Times reports.
The federal copyright infringement suit was filed in Los Angeles.
In the complaint, RDF charged Fox, a unit of News Corp. and the company it hired to produce the series, Rocket Science, with copying its show's premise, format, cast of characters, sequence of events and other aspects, the report said.
A spokesman for Fox said the network had no comment on the suit.
