VH1 has ordered eight episodes of Tough Love, a new reality dating series produced by actress Drew Barrymore's Flower Films production company.

The show will follow matchmaker Steve Ward as he gathers a group of women and improves their unsuccessful dating habits and looks to find them true love, Variety reported on Tuesday.

Ward will whip the girls into shape by putting them through a "Tough Love Boot Camp," according to Variety.

"The moment they introduced us to Steve, we knew that he is not your mother's matchmaker and has the rare courage to tell women what men honestly think," VH1 executive Jeff Olde told Variety.

"We're all trying to figure out how to make love function while continuing to better ourselves," Barrymore told Variety of the show. "This show is a fun way to do that."

Tough Love, which Flower Films is producing with High Noon Entertainment, will be the first television project Barrymore's company has produced. According to Variety, the company's previous projects have consisted largely of romantic comedies starring Barrymore, including Never Been Kissed, 50 First Dates, and Fever Pitch.

In addition to Barrymore, Flower Films' Nancy Juvonen, Ember Truesdell, and Chris Miller and High Noon's Jim Berger and Pam Healey are serving as the show's executive producers.
