After 12 seasons, Tyra Banks has decided to break the mold when it comes to casting for America's Next Top Model.  Or at least shorten it.

The CW has announced open casting calls for Top Model's thirteenth cycle, and -- in a complete turnaround from the casting requirements of its first 12 seasons-- the reality series is requiring contestants be 5'7" or under.

The reason for the previous 5'7" minimum height requirement was to match "industry standards," according to The CW.

"There have been top supermodels in the past that weren't as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss," said Banks.  "So we are changing up Top Model for cycle 13 and making it a year for the shorter model!"

In addition to the height requirement, those interested in applying for Top Model's thirteenth season must be ages 18 to 27 of "diverse backgrounds, shapes and sizes."  Additional information is available via The CW's website.
