The CW Network, the new network resulting from the merger of UPN and The WB, has announced that it will launch its inaugural 2006-2007 programming schedule on Wednesday, September 20 with the seventh edition of America's Next Top Model.

Top Model, which formerly aired on UPN and ranks as the highest rated show on either of the two merging networks, will premiere its seventh edition with a special two-hour 8-10PM ET/PT premiere. Despite the network change, Top Model will continue to air regularly in its previous Wednesday 8PM ET/PT time period.

Following Top Model 7's premiere, One Tree Hill, a former The WB show, will air in The CW's Wednesday 9PM ET/PT time period beginning September 27.

Veronica Mars, the critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged former UPN show that had previously been given the network's plum post-Top Model slot, will now air on Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT and serve as the lead-out to Gilmore Girls, one of the former The WB network's strongest female-skewing series. Veronica Mars' third season will premiere October 3.

As part of The CW's staggered two-week fall schedule launch, a special "encore" presentation of Top Model 7's second episode will also air on Sunday, October 1 at 9PM ET/PT.
