TLC has announced Master of Dance, a new reality competition series hosted by former Dancing with the Stars celebrity participant Joey Lawrence that will challenge the dance-floor versatility of its contestants, will premiere Sunday, June 8 at 9PM ET/PT.

"Joey is the perfect host for this fresh twist on the dance competition," said TLC programming executive Brent Zacky.  "Each episode is unpredictably exciting, and shows that you don't have to be a professional dancer to have all the right moves."

The six-episode series will air over the course of three consecutive Sundays -- with each episode featuring five contestants pitted against each other in three elimination rounds.  During each contestant's performance the songs he or she is dancing to will change mid-performance, forcing them to use a full repertoire of moves.

After each performance the contestants will be critiqued on style, genre and personality by Master of Dance's three judges -- dancer Lucinda Dickey; So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Keith "Tyce" Diorio; and comedian Loni Love.

The winners from the first five Master of Dance episodes will then move on to the show's finale, in which one will receive the $50,000 grand prize.

"The winner of this show will be that person at the wedding or party that always has the right moves and knows every popular dance," said executive producer Craig Piligian.  "We're looking for real people with real skills to get on stage and just have fun."

Lawrence finished third with professional partner Edyta Sliwinska during Dancing with the Stars Fall 2006 third season.

"I've always had a passion for dancing," said Lawrence.  "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with TLC and all of the competitors as they battle it out for the grand prize and title Master of Dance."
