Amber, a 29-year-old mother of two from Austin, TX, chose Johnny over her runner-up, Shad McRell, a 30-year-old solar energy specialist from Denver, CO, who also put his heart on the line for love and proposed marriage.

The broadcast of ABC's new reality dating series from The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss featured nine men -- selected by a panel of matchmakers -- attempting to win the heart of a woman whose identity was initially concealed from them by participating in four pageant-style rounds of competition.

Amber admitted she let the romance die in her previous marriage and put her own husband into the friend zone. But after working on herself, she feels she deserves to find love again and wants another chance to get this right. Amber revealed her perfect match is a mix of Mr. Rogers and Christian Grey.

After America was introduced to Amber, the men were brought out onstage one by one.

Johnny was welcomed onstage first, and then he was followed by Shane Crofts, a 26-year-old financial analyst from Westwood, CA; Gray Campbell, a 29-year-old recruiter from Greensboro, NC; and John Laws, a 35-year-old sports broadcaster from Atlanta, GA.

Next up was Scott Curley, a 27-year-old event coordinator from Long Beach, CA; Shad; Ephesien Simpson, a 28-year-old sales representative from Haiti; Bryan Adamcik, a 30-year-old music engineer from Austin, TX; and Kevin Wallace, a 29-year-old general manager from Southern California.

Amber sized up the competition and quickly determined she'd like to see more of the following men: Chad, Johnny, Gray, Bryan, Shane, Ephesien, and John.

It then became time for the best of beachwear or swimwear round, and only a couple of the men felt confident and comfortable enough to go shirtless.

Several highlights of this round included John revealing his mother had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer but his father remained by her side and supported her, Shad explaining he was searching for family and love following the death of his mother, and Ephesian disclosing he was adopted as a teenager.

Once this round concluded, Amber advanced the men she connected with and would like to get to know better: Johnny, Bryan, Shad and Gray.

In the next stage of competition, Amber was allowed to ask each man a serious question about topics that matter to her, such as religion, politics, past relationships, or even sex -- and each man was given 30 seconds to answer.

Amber asked Bryan how he felt about the fact she has two children, and he said his biggest inspiration in life is his stepfather and it takes a big man to step into those shoes, suggesting he would absolutely be happy to fill that role.

When discussing whether he's spiritual, Gray said he grew up in the church and attended mass every Sunday with his family.

Shad was asked how he'd keep things fresh in the bedroom given her last relationship lasted for seven years and things got stale in the bedroom, and he said he'd keep things fun and exciting by introducing some new things and trying some new stuff, such as role playing.

And finally, Johnny insisted he'd never give up on love or a relationship. He said losing his first love in a drinking and driving car accident never paralyzed him or held him back.

Following the interview round, Amber wanted to keep seeing Shad, Johnny and Bryan.

The three guys then got to meet Amber's best friend, Danielle, who is like a sister to Amber. Danielle was afforded the opportunity to ask each man a question since he could potentially become a part of her social circle one day.

Danielle asked Shad and Johnny how they felt about Amber having children, and Johnny said it's "amazing." Johnny was already a father figure to his younger cousins. And Shad insisted family is so important to him and he'd love to become a father.

Bryan also revealed he's not a jealous guy considering Danielle said men are always after Amber.

Towards the end of the show, Amber could sincerely see herself accepting a marriage proposal from Johnny or Shad.

As a result, the two men got to meet Amber face-to-face. The guys had big smiles on their faces when the fit blonde beauty walked out, so they seemed very pleased with her appearance. Johnny was even shown whispering to himself, "My God."

Johnny and Shad were then instructed make a proposal and explain to Amber how far they'd be willing to go for love and for her.

Shad told Amber this show was the craziest thing he's ever done, but he didn't waste any time. Shad got down on one knee and said the ring was beautiful just like her.

Shad said he would be the best person he can be for her and her family, and he wanted to make her "the happiest woman on this planet." Shad explained he wanted Amber to be his princess and he'd save her from any negativity in this world.

With that being said, Shad asked Amber to marry him and become his fiancee.

Johnny was up next and revealed he'd love to spend the rest of his life with her. He said he values marriage and being a father and would love for her to become his wife. Johnny also cracked a cute joke that his Apple watch was telling him to breathe.

Johnny then proposed marriage as well, and Amber appeared ecstatic. Amber didn't even take a moment to think about her two choices -- she just immediately accepted Johnny's proposal and put the Neil Lane diamond ring on her finger.
