Lauren Conrad's clothing line may be on hiatus, however that doesn't mean The Hills star has taken her finger off the pulse of fashion.

Kohl's has announced the launch of LC Lauren Conrad, a new contemporary lifestyle brand that will launch in 300 of its stores and on the retailer's website this October.

"Partnering with a successful national retailer like Kohl's supports my mission to make great clothing accessible to young women everywhere," said Conrad in a statement. "The collection is a reflection of my personal style and will offer fresh, California Casual designs at an affordable price."

Kohl's will be the exclusive U.S. retailer of all LC Lauren Conrad merchandise, which will initially only consist of apparel but might be expanded to additional products such as footwear, jewelry, handbags, intimates and sleepwear. Retail prices will range from $20 to $60.

Kohl's and Conrad will collaborate on designing the brand, which the retailer plans to eventually expand to all of its stores nationwide.

"We are very excited to announce our partnership with Lauren Conrad, a pop culture icon whose style resonates with our contemporary customer," said Kohl's executive Don Brennanin a statement. "We are confident the LC Lauren Conrad collection brings customers both the contemporary style and the world-class brands they want at a price that delivers incredible value."

Production of Conrad's The Lauren Conrad Collection was temporarily put on hold last month due to the current "economic climate."

However Conrad says that The Lauren Conrad Collection will be back next spring and should work well with the designs being sold at Kohl's.

"I like having more of an eclectic style where you mix high ends and more affordable pieces," she told Us Weekly. "It's great to be able to go to a store like Kohl's and get really good classic pieces and mix them into your wardrobe."

Last month, Conrad and The Hills executive producer Liz Gately both confirmed that the show's currently airing fifth season will be Conrad's last.
