Real estate mogul and TV host Donald Trump claimed Barbara Walters told him she's sorry she hired Rosie O'Donnell on "The View" -- no matter what she says now.

Trump accepted an on-air clarification Walters read Wednesday in which she acknowledged Trump had never filed for personal bankruptcy, although his casino companies had been in and out of federal Chapter 11 reorganization.

O'Donnell had said Trump filed for bankruptcy when she criticized him for allowing Miss USA to keep her crown despite public allegations of underage drinking.

"They were afraid they were going to be sued, and they know it was the truth and I respect ABC for doing that," Trump told "Inside Edition."

Walters also said Trump's claim that she's unhappy with O'Donnell could not "be further from the truth." Trump said Walters had little choice but to defend O'Donnell after hiring her to co-host the women's talk show.

Trump said he doesn't expect to appear on "The View" anytime soon.
