The Bachelorette couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers can finally be a happily-engaged couple in public now.

The show's twelfth-season concluded with Jordan, a 27-year-old former pro quarterback, getting down on one knee and proposing to JoJo, a 25-year-old real estate developer, after a long journey of highs and lows, ups and downs.

The couple conquered trust issues while filming the show only to then battle intense criticism and unflattering tabloid reports once the season premiered on TV. Jordan was labeled a fraud and cheater, and JoJo was bashed for falling in love with men who had selfish intentions.

But now, JoJo and Jordan are in love, and they don't feel the need to prove that to anybody. Their next step? Jordan is moving to her hometown in Dallas, TX.

In a recent interview, the couple talked to reporters about their experience on the show and future together. Below is what they had to say.

As we saw on After the Final Rose, you guys have been through a lot with the press/media. How did you cope without being able to see each other often?

JoJo Fletcher: I mean, it was tough. You go from this high of being engaged and madly in love to being kind of separated and torn apart and then having to face just an overwhelming amount of scrutiny and the tabloids and the media. It was so hard.

And I mean thankfully, we had each other to call and talk to about it, but that kind of was it. So we just kind of leaned on each other, and there were so many nights where he just -- I mean, I would cry by myself from being so overwhelmed and he would just talk to me all night until I was okay.

And I think that throughout that whole thing, our communication got so much better. And I mean, I think it made our relationship what it is today.

Jordan, do you think talking about Aaron Rodgers since your stint on The Bachelorette began has made it more difficult to repair your relationship, or has the relationship gotten better?

Jordan Rodgers: No. You know, I went into this knowing that it was a TV show and that I only had a small opportunity on-camera to tell JoJo everything that I needed to in order to get to a place where we could be engaged. And family stuff is part of that.

But you know there's a line -- like I said, there's a lot of people that we were excited to share this moment with and this new chapter of our life with. And that's what we're focusing on.

We're focusing on moving and then getting my bags and getting settled in a place and then getting our families together, getting our friends together. That's what we're really looking forward to.

And you guys have a wedding to plan too, so there's that!

Jordan Rodgers: That too. Just a little bit of that. Yes.

JoJo Fletcher: We're busy!

JoJo, you got cut off on After the Final Rose by Chad Johnson when you were talking about the next Bachelor. I was hoping both of you could talk a little bit about why you think Chase McNary or Luke Pell would be a good choice.

JoJo Fletcher: You know, I got to know these guys so well. Chase and Luke both were two men that I cared so deeply for, that made impressions on my heart. And I think they're both so deserving.  They're both very different.

And I don't think you can go wrong with either one. But I know that they're, you know, fan-favorites. America loves them. I adore them. I mean, I honestly just think they are going to be great either way.

Jordan Rodgers: Yes. I mean, both of those guys are great. Luke is kind of quintessential bachelor as far as, you know, being a war veteran, a Texas guy. He can ride a horse. I can't do that.

And Chase, I think people fell in love with him for much different reasons as he kind of let his walls down and opened up. He did the same with us. We got to know him better each and every week, so I think America did the same.

If I had to throw in my hat of two dark horses, I would love to see James Taylor and/or Wells Adams get a shot at finding that special someone as well. But Chase or Luke is going to be great either way.

Will you guys be watching The Bachelor season?

JoJo Fletcher: Absolutely, yes.

Jordan Rodgers: Absolutely.

Jordan, after the immediate rush after the show, there's going to be endorsement offers, maybe Dancing with the Stars. Who knows? But after that's over, what career plans do you have? What kind of work are you looking to do in Dallas where I know JoJo has rental property?

Jordan Rodgers: Yes. I mean, we're going to be moving to Dallas. My career doesn't change. I own a company that does nutrition coaching, and I'll be doing that from Dallas as well. That company is building, growing, and it's something I'm passionate about.

And then I've been doing broadcasting for the last year, doing radio for ESPN and doing some TV stuff here and there. And I'll be working with ESPN SEC Network as a college football analyst.

So, it's not getting back to normal because it's a much more exciting chapter of our life. But nothing really changes as far as what I'll be doing. I'll just be in Dallas doing that.  That's what I'm really excited about.

I unfortunately missed the hometown episode this season. Jordan, could you tell me a little bit about your parents and brothers, and what they do for a living?

Jordan Rodgers: Yes. My dad's a chiropractor. He has been for a long time. My mom runs the show at the house; She keeps us all together. And my brother Luke does NFL reporting for 247Sports in CBS. [My parents' names are] Ed and Darla.

Given that you're going to be moving to Dallas, what part of Dallas are you planning to settle in?

JoJo Fletcher: We're still in the same downtown-uptown area. It's the same area that I've been living in. We're just kind of moving a little bit outside of the heights I would say.

Can you tell me a little bit about what played into your decision to move back to Dallas over anywhere else?

JoJo Fletcher: I mean, Dallas is home to me. My entire family's there. My work is there. I had no problem -- if I had to pick up and move, I would do anything for, you know, love and for my relationship.

But at the end of the day, it made sense and it worked that Jordan was able to come. I'm so excited to be able to have him close to my family and start this [life]. I'm going to start building or planning a wedding, and I need my family's help. So that played a big role in it. (Laughs)

What's the first thing that you want to do with Jordan in Dallas?

JoJo Fletcher: Oh my gosh.

Jordan Rodgers: That's a good question.

JoJo Fletcher: So many things!

Jordan Rodgers: What's the first thing though? Dallas -- I've never been.

JoJo Fletcher: He hasn't had true Tex-Mex. So I'm taking him to have Tex-Mex. We're going to do that. I can't wait to just show him the city, show him the places that I go, show him where he's going to be grocery shopping. I mean, there's just a lot. There is a lot.

Jordan Rodgers: I've been there, but it was like a quick business trip like a year ago, so I was in and out. I haven't really gotten to see any of the city. So, I heard great things, but I know nothing other than the Cowboys play there.

JoJo Fletcher: We'll eat out.

One big thing coming up in Dallas is the Texas State Fair. Is that on your to-do list too?

JoJo Fletcher: Oh my.

Jordan Rodgers: Hey, are you throwing some fried oreos at me or something like that? I got no problem with that.

JoJo Fletcher: He's going to love the State Fair.

Do you guys have any reality TV plans for the near future, like what about Dancing with the Stars or maybe a spinoff show like what Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have in the works?

JoJo Fletcher: I have no clue what the future holds. I think right now, we're both just so excited about this immediate future of being together and getting to Dallas and moving in.

I think the exciting part is that we have each other to kind of navigate through life with now.  And so, whatever comes our way is something that we'll discuss. And we'll just see, well, where's best for us and what's best for our relationship.
