The Bachelorette bachelor Brandon Andreen apparently has a criminal past.

Andreen, a 26-year-old painting contractor from Costa Mesa, CA, was charged with a felony for making a bomb threat at a General Motors plant in 2005, RadarOnline reported.

However, Andreen allegedly negotiated a plea bargain in which he was only charged with a misdemeanor and required to pay a $1,000 fine instead.

"I have no comment... It was all a misunderstanding," Andreen, who is competing for Desiree Hartsock's heart in the currently-airing season of The Bachelorette, reportedly told The National Enquirer when contacted for a comment.

According to court documents, Andreen -- who was working as a telemarketer at the time in Minnesota -- reportedly called a GM plant in Wisconsin and told an employee he was an FBI agent and there was a briefcase with a "highly explosive device" in an elevator shaft.

"Someone had better tell Desiree that this guy is trouble," a source told The Enquirer, according to RadarOnline. "Even if he meant the bomb threat to be a joke, it's nothing to laugh about these days and is sure to turn off Desiree."

Hartsock eliminated six suitors during The Bachelorette's ninth-season premiere on Monday and Andreen is still in the running.
