The "Retired NBA Players" became the third team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after arriving at the fourth leg's Pit Stop at a park called Place Des Lices in Saint-Tropez, France in last place.

"I've been watching for 29 seasons with my whole family and I wanted to win," Cedric said following his team's ouster. "We put on a great show; we just came out on the losing end of the Race. I can't complain. I'm not even supposed to be here. God has blessed me to fulfill another dream."

Shawn added, "We got through it together. We win as a team and lose as a team. It hurt to lose, but man, at the same time, we've got to keep our head high because we competed and it was amazing and I salute it."

The episode began with the third leg's first-place finishers, "Dating Couple and Yale Debating Teammates" Henry Zhang and Evan Lynyak, departing the Pit Stop in Tangier, Morocco at 11:34AM.

The teams' next set of clues instructed them to fly over the Mediterranean Sea to the South of France. Once they arrived in Nice, they had to make their way down the coastline to Saint-Tropez.

"Friends and IndyCar Drivers" Alex Rossi and Conor Daly were on their heels at 11:35AM, followed by "Retired Professional Skiers and Friends" Kristi Leskinen and Jen Hudak at 11:37AM.

Behind Kristi and Jen were "Dating Couple and Musicians" Trevor Wadleigh and Chris Marchant, who left at 11:41AM, as well as "Dating Couple and Former Big Brother Houseguests" Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf, who departed at 11:54AM.

"Competitive Eaters and Friends" Joey Chestnut and Tim Janus then took off at 12:08PM, followed by "Twin Brothers and Firefighters" Eric Guiffreda and Daniel Guiffreda at 12:25AM, "Dating Couple and Lifeguards" Lucas Bocanegra and Brittany Austin at 12:26PM, and finally Cedric and Shawn at 12:44PM.

Eric and Daniel had some trouble driving their stick shift, and Lucas and Brittany got lost on their way to Saint-Tropez. Brittany cried, thinking her boyfriend wasn't treating her well, but once he apologized, the pair realized they were working well together and growing stronger as a team.

Kristi and Jen arrived at the next clue in first place, and they were then followed by Alex and Conor, Jessica and Cody, Henry and Evan, Trevor and Chris, Joey and Tim, Cedric and Shawn, Lucas and Brittany, and finally Eric and Daniel.

Although it was time for one member from each team to complete a Roadblock task, Cedric and Shawn had to first complete an additional Speed Bump task as a consequence of finishing the previous non-elimination leg in last place.

For Cedric and Shawn, they had to move 15 boats and stack them in numerical order in a dock.

But the other Racers were required to sail a petite dinghy without having received instructions for the Roadblock task. While sailing the tiny boat fit for children, the participating Racers had to gather two halves of their next clue hanging from distant buoys in the water.

Kristi decided to try this Roadblock on behalf of her team, and she was later joined by Alex, Cody, Evan, Trevor, Joey, Cedric, Lucas, and Daniel.

The task was not an easy one, as most of the Racers struggled, including Cody. Evan appeared to have the most difficult time sailing, and at one point, the sail swooped around and hit her in the face, chipping one of her two front teeth!

Henry knew his girlfriend was tough, but he was impressed with how tough she was that day.

Once Cedric and Shawn finished their Speed Bump task, Cedric took on the Roadblock task and quickly discovered he was too large for the boat. He kept tipping over, and his boat repeatedly filled with water.

As for Alex, when he finally managed to grab his next clue and head back to shore, he realized he only had one half of the clue. Alex and Conor admitted that paying attention to detail was not a strength for their team and they had to stop overlooking instructions.

Kristi and Jen finished the Roadblock in first place. They were then followed by Alex and Conor, Cody and Jessica, Trevor and Chris, Joey and Tim, Lucas and Brittany, Henry and Evan, Eric and Daniel, and finally Cedric and Shawn.

It then became time for the teams to select one of two possible Detour tasks: "Bread" or "Tread."

"Bread" required the teams to use 30 pounds of dough to make 50 traditional baguettes to the satisfaction of the master baker.

"Tread" required the teams to make a classic pair of French sandals.

Jessica and Cody opted to try the "Bread" Detour task, as did Alex and Conor. But everyone else tested their luck creating sandals.

Kristi and Jen finished the Detour in no time, and on their heels were Alex and Conor. In third place was Cody and Jessica, followed by Trevor and Chris, Joey and Tim, Lucas and Brittany, Henry and Evan, Cedric and Shawn, and Eric and Daniel.

The teams then made their way to Place Des Lices, which would host the season's second "Head-to-Head Competition" and also serve as the leg's Pit Stop.

For the competition, one team had to face off against another team in games of Petanque, which is similar to Bocce Ball. The winning team could check into the Pit Stop, while the losing team would have to stay behind and wait for their next challenger.

Kristi and Jen arrived at the park in first place, and they were followed by Alex and Conor, Cody and Jessica, Chris and Trevor, Joey and Tim, Lucas and Brittany, Henry and Evan, Eric and Daniel, and Cedric and Shawn.

Kristi and Jen first battled Alex and Conor, and Alex and Conor were victorious. Alex and Conor therefore stepped on the Pit Stop mat in first place, and The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan told them that they had won $5,000 each.

Kristi and Jen then tried their luck against Cody and Jessica, but a perfect throw by Jessica advanced herself and Cody to the Pit Stop in second place.

Kristi and Jen were up again as a result, and they faced Trevor and Chris in a match. This time, Kristi and Jen won, and so they checked into the Pit Stop in third place.

Trevor and Chris then battled Tim and Joey, but Joey and Tim won. Joey and Tim therefore finished the leg in fourth place.

Trevor and Chris faced off against Lucas and Brittany next, and this time, the guys won. Trevor and Chris claimed fifth place as a result.

Lucas and Brittany really struggled to win a game and they were almost eliminated. They faced off against Henry and Evan as well as Eric and Daniel, with the other teams winning their rounds.

After Henry and Evan checked into the Pit Stop in sixth place and Eric and Daniel claimed seventh, Lucas and Brittany were matched up against Cedric and Shawn for another round of the game.

This time, Lucas and Brittany came through, and they defeated Cedric and Shawn. Lucas and Brittany therefore checked into the Pit Stop in eighth place, resulting in Cedric and Shawn's elimination.
