The Amazing Race: All-Stars eliminated Herbert "Flight Time" Lang and Nate "Big Easy" Lofton during Sunday night's eighth episode of the CBS reality competition's 24th overall season and third all-stars edition.

"The Globetrotters" became the sixth team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's eighth Pit Stop at Piazza Del Duomo in Rome, Italy, in last place.

"It just wasn't our day. It wasn't our time. But we had a good time. I think I had [more] fun this time than I did the previous time when we made it farther," Big Easy said following his team's ouster.

"It's hard to think of everything right now, but overall, it's been 31 legs of The Amazing Race with nothing but great memories in them. We must be doing something right if we got a chance to come back and do it three times," Flight Time added.

The eighth broadcast of The Amazing Race: All-Stars began with "Newlyweds" Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly leaving the seventh Pit Stop at Piazza Del Popolo -- an enormous plaza surrounded by Roman architecture known as "The People's Square" -- in first place at 7:48AM.

The departure times for the five other teams were as follows: "The Country Singers" Jennifer Wayne and Caroline Cutbirth at 8:26AM, "Father and Son Cancer Survivors" David O'Leary and Connor O'Leary at 8:27AM, "The Cowboy Brothers" Cord McCoy and Jet McCoy at 8:40AM, "The Afghanimals" Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran at 9:38AM, and Flight Time and Big Easy at 9:39AM.

The teams' first set of clues instructed them to drive themselves 80 miles to the remote city of Civita Di Bagnoregio where they'd find their next clue. The clue also warned a Double U-Turn was looming ahead in the leg.

Brendon and Rachel planned to U-Turn Jet and Cord in order to flush out their Express Pass.

Meanwhile, Caroline and Jennifer and Dave and Connor planned to continue working with one another as an alliance. However, on the car ride, the guys accidentally lost the girls. Caroline and Jennifer assumed Dave and Connor lost them on purpose and they weren't happy because they ended up missing the correct exit.

Jet and Cord absolutely intended to use their Express Pass in the leg, whereas Flight Time and Big Easy were hoping to go from "worst to first." But like Caroline and Jennifer, "The Globetrotters" got lost.

Rachel and Brendon were the first team to arrive at the remote city, and they were soon followed by Dave and Connor, Jet and Cord, Leo and Jamal, Caroline and Jennifer, and Flight Time and Big Easy.

It then became time for the teams to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Donkey Run" or "Donkey Build."

"Donkey Run" required the teams to pick a pair of donkeys and take part in the town's famous donkey race. They had to make it around the course three laps before the band finished playing in order to receive their next clue.

"Donkey Build" required the teams to enter a workshop and properly assemble a wooden donkey using all the parts provided. Once they loaded the donkey with wood and delivered it to Gepetto, they'd earn their next clue.

Brendon and Rachel and Dave and Connor chose to do the donkey race. Once Jet and Cord got there, they decided to immediately use their Express Pass so they could just skip over it.

Once they finished the Detour, they headed off on-foot to Hostaria Del Ponte, where the Double U-Turn board was awaiting them.

Brendon and Rachel got to the board first and chose to U-Turn Dave and Connor because they knew the father and son team was right behind them. The couple then headed to their next destination by driving themselves to La Badia Di Orvieto to find their next clue.

When Brendon and Rachel got to La Badia Di Orvieto, they learned they must complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock, one member of each team must copy a page from an ancient manuscript just as the monks did. Once the page was a perfect match, a monk would hand a team its next set of clues.

Dave and Connor and Jet and Cord got to the board at the same time, and because Dave and Connor were forced to U-Turn a team so they'd have a shot to stay in the Race, they opted to U-Turn their good buddies, Leo and Jamal.

Dave and Connor were shocked Rachel and Brendon did that to them, and they felt guilty for dragging Leo and Jamal down with them. Jet and Cord were surprised about the U-Turn as well, saying Brendon and Rachel were really playing dirty.

When Leo and Jamal arrived at the location of both Detour tasks, they ran into Dave and Connor, who admitted to "The Afghanimals" they had no choice but to U-Turn them.

Rather than pouting and complaining, Leo and Jamal decided to just deal with the problem at-hand and work with Dave and Connor on the donkey-building task. Leo and Jamal believed Dave and Connor were a class act, so they didn't care about the U-Turn incident. Instead, Leo and Jamal viewed it as a "gift" or "blessing" from the father and son team.

The "Donkey Build" task proved to be fairly difficult. Leo and Jamal decided to quit halfway through and get "Donkey Run" out of the way first. Leo and Jamal asked Dave and Connor to help them finish the task once they returned to the workshop, and Dave and Connor agreed.

Meanwhile, Caroline and Jennifer finally found the Detours and got right to work on "Donkey Build." Dave and Connor were there and explained to the girls they never meant to lose them on the road at the start of the leg. Dave and Connor finished their task soon afterwards followed by Caroline and Jennifer.

Just as the two teams were leaving, Flight Time and Big Easy began the "Donkey Run" task, while Jet and Cord caught up to Brendon and Rachel and were beginning the Roadblock task.

Dave and Connor and Caroline and Jennifer then arrived at the Roadblock task simultaneously. Dave and Connor sarcastically thanked Rachel and Brendon for U-Turning them, showing their frustration.

While Rachel was finishing up her manuscript, and Jet was working on his, they were soon joined by Caroline and Connor. Connor really struggled with the task and even suggested to Dave at one point he'd like to skip the task entirely and just take the time penalty at the Pit Stop. However, Connor stuck with it.

Meanwhile, Flight Time and Big Easy were having trouble with their donkeys because the animals weren't cooperating, so they decided to switch tasks and try the "Donkey Build" one instead. As they were switching tasks, Leo and Jamal finished both sides of the Detour.

Leo then attempted the Roadblock task and ended up helping Connor get through it.

Eventually, Flight Time and Big Easy decided to switch back to the original donkey-race Detour task because they didn't have much look in the workshop. After some time, "The Globetrotters" finally finished "Donkey Run" in last place.

Flight Time then completed the Roadblock task on behalf of his time. He said he excelled at copying the ancient manuscript.

The order of which the teams completed the Roadblock task was as follows: Brendon and Rachel, Jet and Cord, Caroline and Jennifer, Leo and Jamal, Dave and Connor, and Flight Time and Big Easy.

The teams were then instructed to get on a train and head to the center of town. Once there, they must make their way to Piazza Del Duomo, which would serve as the Race's eighth Pit Stop.

Brendon and Rachel met The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan in first place. For finishing the leg before any of the other teams, the newlyweds won $7,500 each.

Jet and Cord stepped on the Pit Stop mat in second place, and then Leo and Jamal subsequently secured third place.

Following Leo and Jamal were Dave and Connor in fourth place, Caroline and Jennifer in fifth place, and finally Flight Time and Big Easy in sixth -- and last -- place.
