Teen Mom 2 star Javi Marroquin has revealed his real motive for appearing on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars with former partner Kailyn Lowry.

Javi was secretly hoping to rekindle a romantic flame with Kailyn during the filming process of the show, which unfortunately didn't happen.

"I did, in my heart, kind of hope this bootcamp would make her fall in love with me," Javi, 24, admitted to Us Weekly. "So I still held on."

Kailyn had told Us earlier this month that she discovered Javi wanted her back during the taping of Season 11 of Marriage Boot Camp and it caught her off guard.

"I didn't even know those were Javi's intentions," she had said. "I thought we were going in, literally, to make co-parenting work... and I learned that Javi wanted to make our relationship work -- like an actual relationship. I was a little surprised."

The former couple -- who share three-year-old son Lincoln -- reportedly rehashed their feelings about their bitter split following three years of marriage on Friday's premiere episode of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, including Javi's accusations Kailyn had cheated on him with multiple men while the Air Force member was deployed.

"I'm in the military, so I deploy," Javi told his co-stars, according to Us. "Then I found out she was sleeping with somebody else."

"I don't believe it's cheating if you're separated," Kailyn, 25, argued on the show, to which Javi replied, "I believe it's cheating when you don't know you're separated."

Kailyn then reportedly snapped back, "Javi, you lied and said that you filed for divorce and you didn't, so when I went and filed, you got served before you left."

Javi and Kailyn had a lot of issues to work through on Marriage Boot Camp, however, their experience apparently turned out to be a positive one overall.

"Once you get home, you reflect on all the drills and what they taught us and I'm so happy and our relationship is great. Right now we are co-parenting really well," Javi revealed, adding that he learned a lot, including how to be "more open from the jump with dislikes and likes about your partner."

Javi additionally noted to Us, "You want to make the other person happy, so knowing that is key. A lot of the drills were communication so we learned how to talk to each other instead of at each other!"

Javi and Kailyn -- who announced their divorce in May 2016 -- do appear to be on amicable terms, as he recently shared an adorable photo on Instagram of himself kissing the former 16 & Pregnant star on the cheek.

"As far as the [future] goes, I can't predict it, so who knows," admitted Javi, who appears to be dating other women now.

Meanwhile, Kailyn welcomed her third child, Lux Russell, in August 2017 with ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez and said she is "definitely single" at the moment.

Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars currently airs Friday nights at 9PM ET on WE tv.
