So You Think You Can Dance executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe first made the announcement of the series' return during Tuesday night's tenth-season finale.

"I'm going to just say that I think Season 10 has been absolutely incredible. All of the kids that came and auditioned for us, all of the kids in Vegas -- even the ones that didn't get through to our Top 20 -- and our choreographers have been incredible this season. And I'm saying that because five minutes into the program, I was given word that Fox has commissioned Season 11!" Lythgoe exclaimed.

The audience and judges stood on their feet and loudly cheered in response to Lythgoe's good news. Lythgoe and fellow veteran So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy even performed a little "happy dance."

Female dancer Amy Yakima and male dancer DuShaunt "Fik-Shun" Stegall were crowned the reality dance competition's two tenth-season champions during the live finale broadcast. They each walked away with over $100,000, a cover appearance on Dance Spirit magazine and the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."
