"I learned a lot about myself; that no matter how hard I get knocked down, I can keep fighting. This family, I love it. I'm sad that I'm going home, but everyone here has touched me in that special place right here," the Olympic swimmer said, patting his heart.

Still in the running for the coveted, mirror-ball trophy are Marilu Henner and Derek Hough; Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy; James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess; Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold; Terra Jole and Sasha Farber; and Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko.

Model Amber Rose, actress Maureen McCormick, recording artists Vanilla Ice and Babyface, actor Jake T. Austin and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, along with their professional partners, were cut from the dance contest earlier in the season.

The ABC series features Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as co-hosts, while the judges' panel includes Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
