The 4-year-old daughter of "Ax Men" star Jesse Browning was mauled to death by the family's Rottweiler in Astoria, Ore., E! News reported Monday.

Ashlynn Anderson was found on the lawn outside Browning's home Sunday, the report said. Paramedics were called to the scene and she was airlifted to a Portland hospital where she was pronounced dead.

"Apparently, the dog just snapped," Clatsop County Sheriff Tom Bergin told E! News. "We have detectives working on investigating (what set the dog off) ... We are going to give the family a day or two to grieve before we interview them."

The dog was taken, along with a second Rottweiler, from the family's home to a shelter, E! said.

"Ax Men" is a reality series that chronicles the adventures of several teams of lumberjacks in Oregon and Montana. It airs on the History channel.
