British television personality Piers Morgan is in talks with CNN about starting up his own prime time panel show, sources told the New York Post.

Morgan, a judge on "America's Got Talent" and its U.K. counterpart, "Britain's Got Talent," is the former editor of Britain's Daily Mirror and a winner on "The Celebrity Apprentice."

The Post said CNN is searching for a new identity in the wake of low ratings and the departures of some of its key on-camera people, such as Christiane Amanpour and Gerri Willis.

"We always decline to comment on speculation," a CNN spokesman told the newspaper.
