Hugh Hefner is firing back at former Playboy Playmate Holly Madison.

In her new tell-all memoir, Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, 35-year-old Madison disclosed how Hefner, 89, had offered her drugs, played mind games, bribed her with money in his will to stay in the mansion, and treated her poorly many years ago.

After the media ran with sensational headlines and quoted reputation-shattering excerpts from Madison's new book, Hefner has come forward to address such allegations against him.

"Over the course of my life I've had more than my fair share of romantic relationships with wonderful women. Many moved on to live happy, healthy and productive lives, and I'm pleased to say remain dear friends today," Hefner told E! News in a Monday statement.

"Sadly, there are a few who have chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight. I guess, as the old saying goes: You can't win 'em all!"

Madison, a former Holly's World and The Girls Next Door star, first met Hefner in August 2001. Madison's first sexual experience with Hefner was apparently shared with several other women.

"Much to my surprise, my turn was over as quickly as it started. By the time I was able to wrap my head around what was happening, Hef had already moved on to Candice, then to a few of his actual girlfriends before finishing off by himself, as he always did," Madison wrote, according to E! News.

"I have never had a more disconnected experience. There was zero intimacy involved. No kissing, nothing. It was so brief that I can't even recall what it felt like beyond having a heavy body on top of mine. I remember feeling really sh-tty about it the next day."

However, Madison still asked Hefner if she could move into the Playboy mansion the morning after having sex.

"That might seem counterintuitive -- 'I'm not into it, but I'll come back for more.' But I felt stuck in my life, trying to make ends meet. I lost the lease on my apartment. I felt like I'd already thrown myself to the wolves, so I might as well reap the rewards and not just be one more slut who walked through those doors," Madison explained.

Once her Playboy status became official, Madison was reportedly given a weekly clothing allowance of $1,000 and all-expenses-paid plastic surgery. She, in turn, had to follow Hefner's rules such as a 9PM curfew except on Wednesdays and Fridays -- dubbed "club nights" -- after which the girls had to have sex with the magazine's editor-in-chief.

Sundays were reportedly "movie nights" and the Bunnies weren't ever allowed to wear red lipstick, have boyfriends or speak to the male staff. She also had to share Hefner more than she would've liked to, especially when Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett moved into the mansion.

"I learned Hef was the manipulator and that he pitted us against one another," she noted. "I realized I wasn't treated well... There were days I woke up and just felt like falling to the floor because I felt so depressed."

Madison actually asked Hefner if she could talk to a psychiatrist, but he refused to get her help.

"He [was] basically admitting that he knows the situation is messed up," Madison revealed.

"I'm done being afraid of people. I don't have any loyalty to Hef. I haven't talked to him in four years, so there's no reason to reach out now. Besides, it's the truth... The only thing he ever gave me is a little bit of fame. Fame is not always worth it."

Madison insisted she has "absolutely" no desire to communicate with Hefner again.

"After some years have passed, I don't really find him to be a very genuine person. I feel like if I were to get on the phone with him, everything out of his mouth would be PR B.S. I just have no desire. I don't even care what his reaction is to this. I'm doing this for me and I'm doing this so people can learn from my mistakes," the model told E! News.

Since then, Madison -- who had also competed on Dancing with the Stars' eighth season -- has settled into a new, happy life. She wed her current husband Pasquale Rotella and also welcomed a daughter Rainbow, now two-years-old, in 2013.
