Peter Weber's mother Barbara Weber was largely adored by The Bachelor viewers -- until she essentially begged her son to not choose Madison Prewett on Part 1 of The Bachelor finale, and now she's responding to backlash.

After Monday night's episode of The Bachelor finale aired on ABC, criticism and hate flooded the comments section of Barbara's most recent video of her friends on Instagram.

"Can people please leave her alone! Barb, I think you did the right thing," one fan wrote.

And Barbara replied, "Thanks but I ignore all negatives!!"

Barbara, her husband Peter Weber Sr., and their son Jack were shown meeting Peter's Final 2 bachelorettes, Madison and Hannah Ann Sluss, on Monday night's episode.

Although Barbara thought Madison was a "sweet and lovely girl," she passionately cried to Peter about how Madison wasn't on the show for him and Hannah Ann was the right choice.

Barbara called Hannah Ann "an angel on earth" and gushed about how God had placed Hannah Ann into her son's life. Barbara firmly believed Hannah Ann was madly in love with Peter and selecting Madison would be a huge risk considering they didn't even seem compatible.

"I'm appalled watching your toddler tantrum. I'm also praising GOD (yes GOD) that I do not have a mother like you. Makes me SICK how you spoke to Madi," one person wrote on Barbara's Instagram.

Another Instagram user called Barbara "manipulative" and "neurotic."

"No wonder your son would always give into those crying girls, he learned it from his mother. Just because your old doesn't mean your wiser," the user said.

Barbara was also accused of being rude, condescending, and "way too involved in her adult son's life." Critics also said Barbara shamed Madison because of her religion and values.

"No way I would want her as my [mother-in-law]. RUN MADI RUN!! Madi deserves an easy love and having Barb in the family wouldn't be that," a Bachelor fan wrote. "I guess she will also think she can run her grandkids lives??"

On Part 1 of the finale, Barbara was shown sitting down with Madison alone for a chat, and Barbara revealed Peter is very spiritual but he definitely isn't on Madison's level of faith.

Barbara also pointed out Peter loves to socialize and party and so Madison's lifestyle was quite different.

"I don't want anyone to change him, because he is who he is, and we love him the way he is. I respect you for your values," Barbara began.

Barbara said she understood why Madison would want to turn down a Fantasy Suite with Peter given her morals, but then she gave the bachelorette a piece of her mind.

"But to tell someone else when there are other girls he has very strong feelings for that he wants to get physical with or emotional, that's up to him," Barbara insisted.

Madison interrupted Barbara's statement and said her feelings and values mattered just as much as Peter's did. Madison said the journey belonged to the both of them and she didn't feel the need to apologize or be remorseful of her expectations for Peter and their relationship.

Once Madison left the family gathering, Barbara broke down into tears while talking to Peter about the two women she had met.

"You have a gem waiting for you who is madly head-over-heels in love with you," Barbara said of Hannah Ann.

"And God put her there for you. I think God has answered my prayers and put the right person in your path. Maybe deep in your heart, bud, you knew that because of all the issues that were already surrounding the situation."

As Barbara continued to vouch for Hannah Ann, Peter grew frustrated and asked his family to trust him as much as he trusted them.

"Hannah Ann loves you with all of her heart. Don't let her go. Don't let her go. Bring her home. Bring her home to us! We will welcome her with open arms," Barbara cried.

"We will welcome her with all the love in the world. She is a dream come true and God has placed her there for you. That's what love stories are made of -- someone who is so madly in love with you."

Peter replied by repeating, "You've got to stop doing this."

But Barbara wasn't the only person in Peter's family who strongly referred Hannah Ann over Madison.

Jack pointed out Madison was "big into ministry" while Peter enjoyed clubbing, line dancing and partying.

"I just want to make sure you're not compromising any level of yourself and how you would normally be in a relationship," Jack told his big brother.

"I see a seemingly perfect girl on one side with no issues whatsoever and then I'm seeing Madison, who's just raising a lot of concerns and red flags. I am feeling a little bit scared about the whole situation."

Despite his family's concerns, Peter eventually acknowledged he was madly in love with Madison and would do anything it takes to be with her. Madison was the girl he wanted even though he was also in love with Hannah Ann.

However, Madison ended up quitting the show during her subsequent one-on-one date with Peter, and so Peter was left trying to pick up the pieces of his heart and figure out whether Hannah Ann really was The One for him.

But according to a preview that aired at the end of Monday night's The Bachelor broadcast, Madison will return with regrets.

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison teased a mind-blowing ending of Peter's season and revealed Peter himself doesn't even know how the season will end.
