No charges will be filed against Jesse Browning or his family for the fatal mauling of the "Ax Men" star's 4-year-old stepdaughter, Oregon officials said.

Ashlynn Anderson was killed when one of the Brownings' two Rottweilers got loose from a fenced-in backyard and attacked the child as she played in the frontyard Feb. 28, police said.

"The investigation revealed nothing criminal in nature, merely a set of tragic circumstances," Clatsop County Sheriff Tom Bergin told E! News.

Both dogs were euthanized last week with the family's permission.

"We couldn't absolutely say (the second dog) hadn't been involved, so for the family and local rules and state rules everybody just figured that would be the best thing (safetywise) to do, so both were put down," Bergin told E! News.

Browning is one of the stars of "Ax Men," a television reality series about lumberjacks.
