Viall became a runner-up once more, as Andi Dorfman dumped him for Josh Murray on The Bachelorette's tenth season. But it's not necessarily a fairy tale for Booth and Bristowe either. The couple has to deal with cyber bullies and the aftermath of a very controversial season.

On Monday, Viall talked to Reality TV World about his experience on The Bachelorette and his heartwrenching almost-proposal. Below is a portion of his interview. Check back with us soon for more.

Reality TV World: How are you feeling about the breakup now, do you feel you're over it completely or no? And has your opinion of Kaitlyn as a person changed because of the way she handled the final Rose Ceremony?

Nick Viall: I don't know if my overall, you know, as a person, I think Kaitlyn is a great person, right? In terms of my overall, it hasn't gone from once being in love with her and thinking that I want to spend the rest of my life with to thinking she's some bad person. I don't think that at all.

But especially that night, everything kind of changed at that moment. I guess to get to the point of your question, you know, a lot of the feelings I had for her and our relationship were built on this trust that we had from the beginning of our relationship all the way to the end.

And I know she didn't mean anything malicious by it and she didn't have any cruel intentions, but that trust between us was broken in that moment. And I have really focused on that to move forward and to move on.

And while maybe our relationship wasn't quite what I thought it was -- and maybe there are some small things about her I might've been wrong about -- I still think she's a great person and I think she has so many amazing qualities. But at the same time, those actions definitely helped me focus on moving on. Because, you know, that trust that I thought we had definitely went away in that moment.

Reality TV World: It seemed you were very careful with your word choice after Kaitlyn rejected you -- both on the finale and After the Final Rose. Had last season's incident in which you confessed to the world Andi had sex with you not have happened, considering it sort of damaged your reputation, do you think you would've handled this situation differently? Maybe you wouldn't have been as nice?

Nick Viall: Sure, I mean, as far as the whole Andi stuff, I mean, a lot of people had a lot of opinions about last season's AFR, but my intentions were never to shame Andi in any way or call her out. I was caught up in the moment and it was a questions about the feelings I had and what that meant to me in the moment.

And obviously you learn your lesson. Even though I didn't have any cruel intentions with Andi, I think we can all agree it wasn't the best situation to be in. I was kind of stuck in that moment. I think with Kaitlyn, I don't know if I would've changed anything.

I mean, part of me was -- it's been three months, right? And obviously this was the first chance I had to talk to her, but I didn't really see the need of piling on details of our previous relationship before I came, and quite honestly, I wasn't really expecting any answers to change. I assumed Kaitlyn had prepped for what I might ask.

I think my hope was -- and the only unfortunate part of last night -- I was really hoping Kaitlyn wouldn't even give me an explanation. I was really kind of hoping she'd just say, you know, "You're right. I'm sorry. Looking back, I wish I never had let you propose and I'm sorry." And I would've been more than happy with that answer.

And so, I didn't feel the need to get into detail or call her out. I'm not angry at her. I wish her and Shawn the best. So, I don't think I would've come out guns blazing if last season didn't happen with Andi.

Reality TV World: Watching the season back, did you gain some closure or at least an understanding why Kaitlyn chose Shawn? You weren't a fan of his, but at least you finally got to see inside his head. Did you walk away from the finale thinking, "Okay, I guess Kaitlyn and Shawn are right for each other?"

Nick Viall: I don't really know anything about their relationship. I don't really have an opinion about their relationship. I respect her decision. I respect Kaitlyn in that she knows what she wants. And so, I don't, you know, I think she picked Shawn because she felt she had a stronger connection with him than anyone else. I guess that's all I really can say.
