MTV has renewed The Hills for a sixth season and its The City spinoff for a third season with both set to air sometime next year, Entertainment Weeklyreported Wednesday.
Production on The City's third season will begin this week while The Hills' sixth season will go into production in early January, according to Entertainment Weekly.
MTV aired The Hills' fifth-season finale and The City's second-season finale on Tuesday night.
"I've had the best time. I really have," Cavallari told Entertainment Weekly about her first season as Lauren Conrad's replacement on The Hills. "I feel like I have the best job! Why not [come back for another season]?!"
While Cavallari had previously stated that she treats The Hills as a job and claimed that the show is "so fake," she's apparently come to terms with her role as a reality star.
"It's like I'm in it now. I might as well keep going," she told Entertainment Weekly with a laugh.
In addition, Stephanie Pratt has previously stated that she and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth were "going to leave" The Hills after filming for its fifth season and it apparently remains to be seen if they'll follow through now that the show been renewed for a sixth edition.
According to Port, The City's third season will focus on her attempts to launch her own fashion line.
"That's my reality," she told Entertainment Weekly.
"It's where this collection is going to be sold, who we're going to put it on, what magazines it's going to be on."
In addition, Port said her best friend and roommate Roxy Olin will return for the third season.
"Just Rox and I exploring the city together a little bit more and learning who we are," she told Entertainment Weekly.
