Margaret Cho: 'The Cho Show' series giving her parents "new life"

Comedian Margaret Cho says starring in a new reality U.S. TV series with her parents has given them a "new life."

Cho said making "The Cho Show" with her parents and good friends has not only resulted in an improved relationship in her family, but a quality series for VH1, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday.

"I really want people to see it, I think it's really good. I want the show to go on 'cause I think my parents, it gives them a whole new life, and they're older and we don't get to spend a lot of time together," Cho told the newspaper.

"Cho" premiered Thursday on the cable network and is set to air seven other episodes this season if all goes according to plan.

The actress also spoke with the Times regarding the legalization of gay marriage in California and criticized those who would oppose similar legislation in other U.S. states.

"We need to make families," she told the newspaper. "It's how life is, and how dare they deny us the right to family. It's insane and it's ludicrous and it's sickening."
