Katy Perry's Witness tour delayed, opening acts include Carly Rae Jepsen

Katy Perry has pushed back the start of her upcoming Witness tour by more than a week due to "unexpected production delays."
The Witness tour was originally set to kick off Sept. 7 in Columbus, Ohio, but will now begin Sept. 19 in Montreal.
Most of the shows scheduled before Sept. 7 have been rescheduled, however, the upcoming "American Idol" revival judge's planned performance in Buffalo, N.Y., on Sept. 16 has been canceled, Entertainment Weekly reported.
"Due to unavoidable production delays, major elements of my tour stage design could not be available for me to rehearse on until this week," the pop star said in a statement about the delay on Instagram Thursday alongside a caption that said there was good and bad news to share.
"I'll be spending the next few weeks taking the time to properly prepare the show to be an experience I am proud to share with you. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but hope everyone who sees the show will agree it was worth the wait," she continued.
The good news Perry hinted at involved the announcement of her opening acts for the tour, which will include Noah Cyrus from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1, Purity Ring from Nov. 7 to Dec. 20 and Carly Rae Jepsen from Jan.5 to Feb. 5.
Perry's tour has been promoted by AEG Presentes as featuring "an imaginative trip from outer-space to inner-space, from the planets to the bottom of our oceans, and a musical journey through Katy Perry's biggest milestones and mega-hits right up to her latest album.
The dramatically original staging means that there isn't a bad seat in the house, when Katy brings out her band and dancers, along with all the bells and whistles," noted Billboard.
