JoJo Fletcher's ex-boyfriend Chad Rookstool claims The Bachelorette star never had genuine feelings of love for Ben Higgins.

Rookstool told In Touch Weekly in a tell-all interview he and Fletcher reunited after her stint on The Bachelor and she ultimately denied having developed real feelings for Higgins.

"JoJo told me, 'Chad, come on, you know it was TV,'" Rookstool said. "I think she just got sucked up in the show rather than actually trying to have legit feelings."

Rookstool alleged Fletcher didn't even think she'd make it as far as she did on The Bachelor.

"She told me there were many nights she'd cry thinking about me and our dog and question whether she made the right decision by being there," the 38-year-old Dallas salon owner revealed.

But on The Bachelor's twentieth season, viewers saw Fletcher completely torn up over Higgins and the idea he might choose another girl at the end of his journey. After countless tears, awkward bathroom-floor conversations and apparent anxiety, Fletcher's nightmare came true and she got dumped by Higgins, who instead proposed marriage to Lauren Bushnell.

Rookstool told In Touch that Fletcher returned to Dallas, TX after the show and ran right back into his arms.

"As soon as she got home, we started hanging out every day and being intimate again," Rookstool insisted. "We were sneaking around the whole time The Bachelor was airing because she wasn't allowed to be seen with me... She kept telling me she loved me and that we should have stayed together."

Four months later, according to Rookstool, their relationship fell apart again because Fletcher was offered the role as The Bachelorette's twelfth-season star.

"[It's clear to me now] that she was only holding on to me in case she wasn't named the Bachelorette," Rookstool said. "It's so hard for me to picture her as The Bachelorette and finding someone else, because she's a big part of my life and my best friend. But I'm not going to wait for her."

Rookstool made himself known on Higgins' season of The Bachelor when he left flowers and a letter at Fletcher's Dallas home in attempt to win her back during her hometown date with Higgins. Viewers saw a flustered and frustrated Fletcher claim she was done with Rookstool when they spoke on the phone before Higgins met her family.
