Scottish celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is denying author Sarah Symonds' claims that he had a longstanding extramarital affair with her.

Usmagazine.com said Symonds penned "Having an Affair: A Handbook for the Other Woman" and publicly stated she had a seven-year affair with Ramsay, who has been married to wife Tana for 12 years and is the father of her four children.

"What a week I have had," the Daily Telegraph quoted Ramsay as telling the audience Friday for BBC's "Good Food Show." "I want to give you a big thank you for coming -- it's been a tough week."

Usmagazine.com said Ramsay's guest appearance on the show marked his first since Symond made her allegations.

"We had a new bed delivered this week -- the paparazzi outside must have been thinking that I'd been forced to sleep in the basement," the "Hell's Kitchen" star said. "Mattress, mistress, mattress, mistress. What a load of bull (expletive.) My mum is here so I'm on my best behavior, ooh la la. Oh (expletive) it, I didn't do it, mum. I love you. All my family here are well."
