Heidi Klum has confirmed she's dating her bodyguard Martin Kirsten but apparently isn't ready to say she's in a relationship.

"I don't even know if I can even call it that. I don't know, it just started. So I don't know. I don't know where it's going to go," Klum told Katie Couric during a Wednesday appearance on her new Katie daytime talk show.

"I've known him for four years and he's been with our family for the last four years. He's cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children -- helped us tremendously. I trust him. I mean, I trust him with my children's life. He's a great man, you know, and we just got to know each other from a completely different side."

During her appearance, the Project Runway star elaborated on why her relationship with soon-to-be ex-husband Seal ended after seven years of marriage.

"It just didn't work. I tried my hardest, you know, he tried his hardest and I don't know we just -- now I'm just -- I want to move forward, I want to be friends with him, I want us to be there for our children. And, it's horrible, we both didn't want that," Klum explained.

Although Seal alleged earlier this month Klum had cheated on him with Kristen while they were together when he claimed she decided to "fornicate with the help," Klum is continuing to insist those accusations are not true.

"Yeah, he has a very unique choice of words. I'm used to them. I don't know, I mean I obviously don't know, I don't love that -- obviously it's not true. When you know I've never looked at another man while I was with him and it's hard when you think that he thinks that. Or that he's hurt," Klum told Couric.

"He's moved on, you know, and we separated and he's moved on and so have I. And it's very hard when, when you then start seeing somebody again for the first time. It's hard then when all of a sudden everyone is watching you. It's almost like you can't even have a real, proper chance in a way."

Klum, 39, added that the current state of her relationship with Seal, 49, is still complicated.

"I don't know if we're the greatest friends right now, especially the things that he said -- you know, I just saw him... we were talking and we're in an okay place," said the reality TV star.

"It's a work in progress. You have to take it one day at a time. It's hard especially when you are in the public eye too. You know you're always -- you're always going to have people looking at you closely at everything you do. And they also don't always see exactly how it really is."

Klum and Seal separated in January. While Seal originally said he wanted the split to "remain civil" and reconciliation was a possibility, Klum formally filed for divorce in April.

The soon-to-be-divorced couple are the parents of four children Leni, 8, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.
