The Bachelor alum Nick Viall has provided some insight into production and the format of The Bachelorette's upcoming nineteenth season starring Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.

"I've heard it's going to be very different. And it's going to have a Paradise feel to it," the 41-year-old Season 21 The Bachelor star said during a recent episode of his "The Viall Files" podcast, according to Us Weekly.

Not only will the season have a Bachelor in Paradise "feel" to it, but he also noted most of Season 19 filmed on a boat!

"It is on a cruise ship -- part of it," Nick shared of his alleged inside scoop.

"I asked people because it sounds like the producers think it's gonna be really interesting, but very different."

But production apparently hit rough waters trying to tape two ladies looking for love simultaneously.

"They said it was hell to film because they decided to have two Bachelorettes, like, last second. So the scheduling was for one Bachelorette. They had to jam it all in," Nick alleged.

"And then I asked, I'm like, 'What if it goes really well, like, this is a hit?'... The people I talk to, they hope they never do it again. Just because of the logistics. I think, a cruise ship probably was the challenge."

One thing Bachelor Nation and fans have seemed concerned about is whether Gabby and Rachel will be pitted against each other and essentially fight for the same men.

Given Gabby and Rachel had been strung along and brutally rejected -- in a group dumping session -- by Season 26 The Bachelor star Clayton Echard, it seems the majority of The Bachelor franchise viewers want to see the women supporting and helping each other, rather than being in a competitive atmosphere again.

Nick insisted the women were not at odds while filming the season, revealing, "My understanding is early on, they're very much going to be dividing up the men, like, each will basically [have] their respective season."

"It would be like if two friends go to a bar and after the first night, they just decide -- or go to a party and be like, 'Who are you into?' And they just kind of just decide," he elaborated.

"I think they really are going out of their way to not pit two women against one another."

But Nick claimed there may be some overlap, with Gabby and Rachel potentially dating the same guy at one point or another.

"If it doesn't work out, like if, let's say Gabby was like, feeling it with 'Frank.' 'Frank' could be like, 'Rachel, sup?'" Nick explained.

"There's a little bit of like, options, right? And the thing about Paradise, what makes it different is people have options."

The Bachelor creator and executive producer Mike Fleiss also recently assured fans Rachel and Gabby will not face off during the season.

"No drama...Just two friends helping each other find true love!" Mike tweeted in April.

The Bachelorette's nineteenth season, which already wrapped production, is set to premiere Monday, July 11 at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

"What I can promise you and what I can tell you is that it's a journey unlike anything we've ever seen before," The Bachelorette host Jesse Palmer said earlier this month during a live TikTok event in which he announced the 32 bachelors who will be compete for Gabby and Rachel.

"This is a totally different circumstance and setup and environment that both Rachel and Gabby will have to navigate -- dating these men and having to lean on each other. They are going to rely on their friendship to assist each other along the way."

Nick didn't find The One during his time on The Bachelor franchise, but he has been dating a surgical technologist, Natalie Joy, for about a year-and-a-half. They went Instagram official in January 2021 and are currently living together in Los Angeles, CA.

After competing for Andi Dorfman's heart on The Bachelorette's tenth season in 2014 and finishing as the runner-up behind winner Josh Murray, Nick appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season the following year.

Kaitlyn ended up giving her final rose and getting engaged to personal trainer Shawn Booth, whom she split from in November 2018 after three years of being together. (Kaitlyn is now engaged to The Bachelorette 14 alum Jason Tartick and planning their wedding).

Nick continued his search for love on reality television following his split from Kaitlyn through a stint on Bachelor in Paradise, but when a romance with Jennifer Saviano didn't work out, ABC selected him to star on The Bachelor's 2017 season to hopefully find his match.

Nick got engaged to Vanessa Grimaldi at the end of his season, but their romance kicked off with more challenges than the average The Bachelor couple to come out of the show given Vanessa had been living in Canada and Nick preferred to stay in the United States.

Shortly after getting engaged, Nick also competed on Dancing with the Stars, which soaked up a lot of his free time and energy.

Nick and Vanessa split in August 2017 and Nick seemingly never entered a serious relationship since -- until Natalie.

As for Vanessa, she announced her engagement to Canadian businessman Josh Wolfe in August 2020, and the couple got married on August 20, 2021 in their hometown of Montreal, Canada.

Vanessa is currently pregnant with her first child, and Nick congratulated his ex when Vanessa had initially shared the news via Instagram in April 2022.
