FOX's new 'Performing As...' series to premiere August 26

Millions of Americans dream of becoming musical superstars. Now "Performing As..." (formerly announced as "Soundmix"), FOX's new variety series premiering Tuesday, August 26 (8–9 PM ET/PT), will turn those dreams into reality with a once-in-a-lifetime chance for ordinary people to transform themselves into their musical icons.

Through elaborate hair, make-up and costuming, precision choreography and breathtaking stage scenery, chosen amateur performers will have the chance to sing in their own voices in front of a live studio audience, all the while looking just like their favorite musical superstars. Each week, five contestants compete, and one winner will be crowned by a jury of music industry professionals. Each winner qualifies to return for the finale, where winners of past episodes will compete for a grand prize.

Already a worldwide television sensation, "Performing As...", known as "Soundmix" and "Stars in Their Eyes" in Europe, currently airs in 10 countries with 62 cumulative seasons produced.

"Performing As..." is produced by Endemol USA, the leading producer of television programming specializing in reality and non-scripted genres for network and cable television. Endemol USA is a division of Endemol Holding, a prominent international content developer, producer and distributor of television and online programming. David Goldberg is President of Endemol USA. The series is executive produced by John DeMol and Paul Buccieri.
